Primary Research Areas

Dr Ganesh's primary research areas are Cloud Computing, Software Quality Analysis with modern technologies and paradigms such as Cloud Computing, Mobile, Social Media and Internet of Things. With his several years of industry experience in Cloud Computing and software quality domain, he has contributed several research papers and book chapters in this field. They primarily describe how software testing has been changed with the emergence of new technologies such as Cloud and Mobile. He has also given several talks/workshops in this aspect in several countries including USA, China and India. In addition, he is an active practitioner in Game Theoretic aspects on Computer Science's emerging areas such as Cloud Computing.

Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing paradigm has emerged as a powerful platform to transform the way IT departments build and deploy custom applications to users. Cloud computing has the power to influence the economy by offering faster and more cost-effective methods and solutions for application development. In simplest terms, Cloud computing can be defined as the usage of information technology as a service over internet.

In his research, Dr Ganesh focus mainly on pricing and resource allocation strategies for Cloud computing environments. As Cloud computing is different from traditional networked computing platforms such as Grid, we need special strategies for pricing and resource allocation considering on-demand resource configuration, auto-elasticity, energy efficiency, pay-as-you-go model etc.

Game Theory

Game Theory (both non-cooperative and cooperative approaches) has been used extensively to solve various problems in computer engineering such as in wireless networks, artificial intelligence etc. Non-cooperative game theoretic principles are useful when the players in the game are rational and selfish. Due to its simplicity and efficiency in guaranteeing fairness, bargaining theory has been used for resource allocation in different areas of computer science and engineering, especially in the field of computer networks

He focus on applying various aspects of Game theory such as Auction Theory, Bargaining Theory, Pricing analysis and different forms of repeated games in Cloud Computing and Wireless networks. In Cloud Computing, cooperative game theoretic approaches might be useful where as in wireless networks, enforcing cooperative retransmissions among selfish wireless nodes can be achieved by using non-cooperative games.
